The LPC-401FS Fanless Little PC uses a robust anodized aluminum chassis that measures just over 2 inches tall and has an overall footprint about the size of a hard cover novel (10x6.1x2.17-inch). The unit weighs 5 pounds.
The extruded aluminum chassis acts as a passive heat sink, dissipating internal heat and allowing fan-free quiet operation.
An Intel Celeron Mobile 1.5GHz CPU provides the processing power to take advantage of most demanding applications, Stealth says. Extensive I/O connectivity is built-in, such as LAN, serial, parallel, 3-USB, FireWire, video, PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports.
“We believe we are delivering the most powerful, feature rich, small footprint PCs available today, ” Stealth President and CEO Ed Boutilier says “We are experiencing an early trend where small-form-factor computers are showing rapid growth in the marketplace, as evidenced by Apple's recent release of their Mini-Mac.”
In the new unit, a built-in 2.5” high-shock hard drive provides up to 80GB of storage. For applications that require extra high shock and vibration withstand, optional solid state hard drives or flash drives are available.
A slim CD-ROM drive is standard; DVD, CD/RW and DVDRW drives are available. Systems are compatible with WIN XP/2000 and Linux and can be pre-configured if required. The system operates from 12 volts dc, making it suitable for mobile and field deployment.
