New form of television composed of mobile phone video clips syndicated by a self-publishing audience.
Video phone viewership is growing and a virtual TV station launched about one month ago takes advantage of that growth. RevGTV caters to a fast growing audience at the cross section of television, new media, and mobile technology. RevGTV already has over half a million users and many more viewers. One month after launch, the virtual TV station sent a video-phone crew to cover the Carnival in Rio.
"We chose Carnival because our viewers want something far beyond reality TV. Imagine a feature film made from 500 video-phone clips," said Joshua Selman.
The station syndicates clips sent in by a self publishing audience using the cell phone. The television broadcasting process is moved to millions of handsets recording, sending, and displaying scenes around the world.
"TV is breaking free from the studio. With the advent of virtual television, RevGTV is bringing media rich personal syndication into the mainstream. We offer unlimited channels and see unlimited opportunities to monetize the video/camera phone," said Ray Savant.
The founders of RevGTV have experience in the field of online social networking.
