Test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation provider Tektronix Inc., Beaverton OR, says that results from a market survey by Prime Data, Smartville CA, shows Tektronix as the global market share leader in the logic analyzer market.

Based upon the report, Tektronix says it achieved just over 50% of logic analyzer sales worldwide in 2004. This represents a key milestone in a long-term trend beginning in 1996 when the company says accounted for only 15% of logic analyzer sales.

"The requirements of modern digital design drive continuous technology advances," David Bennett, Tektronix Vice President, Logic Analyzer Product Line, says. "We have worked hard to deliver the performance and innovations needed to keep up with those advances, and we are pleased that customers have responded so favorably to our products."

"Starting in the late 1990s Tektronix' logic analyzer product line introduced a succession of significant innovations including integrating a Windows-based PC, MagniVu, iCapture, iView, and connectorless probes," he adds. "Customers have increasingly come to recognize the value provided by Tektronix logic analyzers and our share growth is a result of our success in satisfying their needs."

"Looking forward, we will continue our timely innovations to meet the evolving needs of customers," Bennett says.

"Tektronix' market share in logic analyzers has increased every year since the 1997 introduction of the TLA700," Prime Data President Galen Wampler says. "Our 2004 report indicates that Tektronix produced just over 50% of the logic analyzer products purchased last year, making Tektronix the leading global supplier."
