Bluetooth headsets

nXZEN PLUS Bluetooth headsets manufactured by personal audio products firm Gennum Corp., Burlington ON, will be included as one of the select items in celebrity gift bags accompanying the 2005 American Music Awards (AMA).

The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles CA on November 22 at 8pm EST.

The gift bag is expected to be received by 110 celebrity presenters, performers and award recipients, including The Rolling Stones, Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong.

The headset is one of a select group of products in the gift bag, all of which are chosen on the basis of their exclusive appeal, Gennum says. The product uses advanced audio circuitry to provide powerful noise reduction, allowing users to make clear, wireless calls in high-noise situations where other headsets function unsatisfactorily.

Although it weighs less than 17 grams and measures only 1 by 2.3 inches, Gennum says, the device can connect to MP3 units for stereo music listening and one-touch call answering. It also provides seven hours of talk time and 100 hours of standby.

“The American Music Awards have the luxury of selecting from a wide variety of products and vendors, so we are extremely pleased to join this elite group,” said Ian McNaughton, Gennum Director of Consumer Marketing, Audio and Wireless Division, says. “The selection of nXZEN PLUS is a testament to the resources our company has invested in developing technology that meets the needs of all consumers, from rock stars to people watching the awards at home.”
